Gift

Ladies,
What and how much to spend on a gift for a 4 year old boy. B-day will take place at a party place. We've never been to a party place before, so we're very new to this.

Usually for our friends' kids we spend $100 or close to $100 on a gift. If it’s some one from the class or work (not close friends) $50. I would call and ask if the kid has a wish list, I know I create one so that my friends would have an easier way of picking a gift. Some time we would get close in which case some one will find out the size. I also like to give and get books, kids get too many toys but books are great cause we read a story every night and kids get sick of listening to the same thing. What ever you get though, do get a gift receipt.
