Hello, Friends and Colleagues!

As many of you know, the Foundation for Jewish Camp with the generous support of the Genesis Philanthropy Group is launching a nation-wide initiative that will create opportunities for children and teenagers from Russian-speaking families to have a transformative experience at Jewish overnight camps across the United States and Canada . In order to create the best possible programs that would respond to the unique interests of the community, we would like to learn as much as we can about Russian-speaking families and their perspectives on camp, informal education and Jewish identity, as well as their specific needs.

Please help us distribute this quick online survey to as many Russian-speaking parents as possible and encourage them to respond, making their opinions really influence the programs at hundreds of Jewish camps in North America. Below please find a short message and the link to the survey.

We value your opinion and need your help in creating the most interesting and meaningful camp programs for your children! We would like you to share your unique perspective by filing out this quick online survey – upon completing the survey you can enter a raffle for a $250 gift certificate!  We also would love to hear from your friends, so please pass this on to other Russian-speaking parents (the top 5 people with most referrals get $100!!!)– the more voices we hear, the better we understand the specific needs and interests of our community.

Looking forward to learning what you think! Please click here to fill out the survey http://deploy.ztelligence.com/start/index.jsp?PIN=15TTHGL5QXVB6

90% of sense of humor and 10% of patience

Recently I was at a relative’s bridal shower where every guest was supposed to share their secret to what makes a successful marriage, kind of like the words of wisdom to the new bride.

This made me think back to how I used to get flowers every Sunday from my then boyfriend, now my husband. This year on Mother’s day I finally got some flowers after at least six reminders and hints. While waiting for my turn to speak I wondered, when did my Prince Charming lost his charm?

What could I possibly suggest to this new bride when my life seemed to disintegrate into every day routine of laundry, work, daily choirs and constant running around after the kids?

And then it hit me, in all this craziness of ordinary life, which to an observer might not look romantic, we never lost it. We evolved and changed, but in a good way. So we metamorphosed into the Bundy’s of the Married with Children or The Simpson’s but we never stopped laughing in the process.

Finally it was my turn to speak and I wished her 90% of sense of humor and 10% of patience. I believe that with this recipe she’ll do just fine.

Congratulations to J & S!

We all know that kids don’t come with instructions. We also learned at some point that at our new position as parents there is no time for training, we’re lackey enough if we get an extra hour of sleep or shower.

So when we need advice or have a question we refer to our most trusted source of information, our parents and friends. However what happens when the help is not there or if the question is too personal to ask someone you know…

This site is a round-table for parents to share ideas, experiences, discus parenting tips, education, discover new products, places and just a place to voice our concerns.

We only ask for our members to be nice. We don’t judge people we only share and support each other on this long journey though parenthood.

Enjoy the forum,
