My two kids mean the world to me. I love to see them run around everyday, laugh, hug and play and enjoy life to the fullest.I always try my best to spend a lot of time with them and to show them how much they are loved. We all as parents try to do the best for our kids and hope that they feel secure. I heard today about the national hug your kids day and kind of fell in love with the idea. I know that my boys get hugs from me their little face just light up and it makes my day complete. I wanted to share some of this information on here with you. I know that all of us parents love to hug our kids and make them feel special everyday so one day a year make that extra effort to do it all day long. Its the greatest feeling on earth.

Ringling Bros Circus

By Tatyana Fanshteyn on Sunday, June 21, 2009
Filled Under: Events, Review

All I can say is wow what a day. It felt amazing to start it off with going to the circus this morning. I remember going to the circus with my mom as a child. It was back in Russia I was about  years old. It was a great experience and now I wanted to do the same for my kids. I wanted to see the smiles on their faces when they see how amazing the greatest show on earth really is.

The jugglers were amazing. I am always amazed at how much coordination is needed to make that work especially when more then one person is involved. It was amazing to see how it all worked. The clowns were really funny to watch and one of my favorite was the one riding the really small bike. It was just too funny and amazing how that can be accomplished. He also had a really funny French accent and that added to how funny he was.

My most favorite part was when the animals were out. I don’t recall ever seeing elephants that close. It was amazing to see how big they are but humans were still able to control them and teach them so that they can perform for the circus. It was really funny to see them dance. I also loved the tigers. They had Russian names really is funny to me. I know I may sound like a child but really that is what it feels like when you go the circus even if you are in adult.

When my kids are a little older in a year or two we will go again. It is different but yet the same when you get older and I always want them to remember this special time.

Start Time: 12:00
Date: 2009-06-27
End Time: 17:00

At the early stages of “Mother’s Know Best Brunch” planning, I got several request for an agenda free event. Mom’s just wanted to meet and talk to each other, which was fine with me. However, later on, our group members decided that they’d like to see a program.

So here is what you should expect from our event:

1.  At 12 noon we’ll have our intros, when we’ll all get to meet each other

2.  At about 12:30 you can start ordering your food or drinks (if you don’t want to, you don’t have to)

3.  At 1:30 we will discuss a charity project that we as mothers should get involved with “Project Night Night”

4.  2:00 I have a surprise for all my mom fans. A “Passion Party” presentation, where well get to touch, taste and smell intimate product. Some of you will say that “you don’t need help in that department” bla bla bla, well you know what that’s a lie, we can always learn a trick or too. Just open up your mind a little …

To register for the event go to Partyregistry.com > click on Party Search > enter the name of our event “Mother’s know best brunch” and add your name to the list

Start Time: 18:45

Foundation for Jewish Camp (www.jewishcamp.org) is launching a major nation-wide initiative that will create opportunities for Jewish kids from Russian-speaking families to experience Jewish overnight camp. In order to address the interests of the families in the most appropriate way, we want to learn as much as possible about the preferences for the summer activities for their children. We would like to find out their attitudes towards summer camps in general and Jewish summer camps in particular, to assess factors that would motivate them to send their children to Jewish camps. We also would like to find out their specific interests and needs when it comes to the educational content of camp as well as marketing they would be responsive to.

The initial learning will happen through several focus groups with parents of school-age children, which later will inform a survey distributed to hundreds of Russian-speaking Jewish families. We would like to learn about YOUR THOUGHTS on this subject matter.

Description: FREE! ALL AGES!
Start Time: 11:00
Date: 2009-06-20
End Time: 13:00

If you’ve had the pleasure to stroll by the Harlem Meer lately, you probably enjoyed a scenic view that was hard to imagine twenty years ago when the land lay in deterioration. Since the Central Park Conservancy’s efforts to restore this forgotten landscape began in 1993 with the introduction of native plant and fish species, however, the now-flourishing habitat has attracted many new species of wildlife including two beautiful white swans.

In this special ballet workshop, the Conservancy welcomes teaching artists from American Ballet Theatre who will share with us the beauty of waterfowl through the magic of dance in one of the world’s most beloved ballets, Swan Lake.
